A keychain is the thing you touch more than almost anything else you own. You grab your keys dozens of times a day. Most Toyota accessories are plastic junk from Amazon that cracks, fades, or falls apart inside a year. We took a different approach: real leather, laser engraving, and stainless steel hardware, made in the same shop where we embroider Toyota hats and print Toyota tees.
These keychains are made on the same CO₂ laser we use for leather patch hats and the same Cowboy CB3500 leather stitching machine we use for heavy-duty sewing. The laser burns the design into the leather at a controlled depth, creating a permanent mark that won't peel, crack, or wash off. Then the leather is hand-stitched and fitted with a stainless steel split ring.

How We Make Them
Every keychain goes through the same three-step process:
1. Laser EngravingThe Toyota design is engraved into real leather using our CO₂ laser. The laser vaporizes the top layer of leather at a controlled depth, leaving a permanent mark with crisp edges and consistent depth. No ink, no transfer film, no peeling. |
2. Cutting & StitchingThe leather is cut to shape and hand-stitched on our Cowboy CB3500, a compound-feed heavy-duty stitching machine that handles leather up to 7/8" thick. Same machine used for belts, holsters, and leather hat patches. |
3. Hardware & QCFitted with a stainless steel split ring (not the cheap pot-metal rings that rust in your pocket). Each keychain is inspected for engraving clarity, stitch consistency, and hardware function before it ships. |

Why Leather Over Metal or Plastic?
Most Toyota keychains on the market are either die-cast zinc alloy (the chrome-plated metal fobs) or injection-molded plastic. Both have issues. Metal keychains scratch your phone screen in your pocket and corrode over time. Plastic keychains crack, fade in UV, and feel cheap from day one.
Leather ages instead of degrading. A good leather keychain develops a patina over years of handling that actually looks better with time. The laser engraving is burned into the material, not printed on top of it, so it can't peel, chip, or rub off. Stainless steel hardware won't rust in your pocket during a Nevada summer. These are the same reasons leather has been the go-to material for quality goods for centuries.

Toyota Keychain FAQ
Is this real leather or faux?
Real leather. We use genuine cowhide for all our leather products. The laser engraving process burns into the natural material, creating a permanent mark. For a detailed comparison, see our real vs faux leather engraving guide.
Will the engraving wear off?
No. Laser engraving is a subtractive process. It physically removes the top layer of leather. There's nothing on top of the surface to peel, chip, or rub away. The leather around the engraving will develop a patina over time, which actually increases the contrast and makes the design more visible with age.
Can you make a Tacoma or Tundra keychain?
