Shop & Location

Where is Battle Born Clothing located?

We're based at 3 Pebble Beach Ln, Yerington, Nevada 89447. We serve Northern Nevada, the Reno/Tahoe region, and Northern California out of our Yerington shop. Every piece of apparel is decorated in-house, no exceptions.

Can I visit your shop in person?

Yes, by appointment. Call (775) 230-0211 or email sales@battlebornclothing.com to schedule. We're a production shop, not a retail storefront, so appointments make sure someone is ready to meet with you and not in the middle of a run.

What areas do you serve?

Primary service area: all of Nevada plus Northern California. We have dedicated landing pages for Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fernley, Fallon, Dayton, Elko, Battle Mountain, Winnemucca, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Henderson, Auburn CA, Grass Valley CA, Nevada City CA, Tracy CA, Livermore CA, Stockton CA, and more. See our Service Areas hub for the full list.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes. We ship to all 50 states. Quote includes shipping to your address. Local pickup at the Yerington shop is free.

What makes you different from other apparel shops?

Three things. First, we print everything in-house on our own M&R Gauntlet GT-8 8-color press, our Happy HCD2-1501 embroidery machines, and our Geo Knight DTF press. No outsourcing, no dropshipping, no print-on-demand. Second, we have no minimums. Most shops start at 24 or 48 pieces. We'll do one. Third, same-day quotes on most jobs. Send us a design and expect a response that day.

Services & Capabilities

What services do you offer?

Five primary decoration services, all in-house:

  • Screen printing on tees, hoodies, tote bags, sweatshirts, long sleeves. M&R 8-color automatic press.
  • Embroidery on hats, polos, jackets, workwear. Happy HCD2-1501 multi-head machines.
  • DTF transfers applied to finished garments. Full-color graphics where embroidery can't go.
  • Laser engraving on leather patches, keychains, metal signs, wood.
  • Heavy leather stitching on our Cowboy CB3500 for leather patches, belts, holsters.
Do you sell or print transfer sheets?

No. We only sell finished garments with DTF transfers applied and pressed in-house. We do not sell transfer sheets, gang sheets, or transfer-only orders. If you want transfer sheets to apply yourself, there are other shops that specialize in that.

What's the difference between screen printing, embroidery, DTF, and laser engraving?

Screen printing: best for tees, hoodies, and bulk orders. Plastisol or water-based ink pushed through a mesh screen. Extremely durable. Best value per piece at higher volumes.

Embroidery: thread stitched directly into the fabric. Premium look and feel. Best for hats, polos, and workwear. Higher up-front cost, but unbeatable premium impression.

DTF (Direct to Film): full-color graphics heat-pressed onto any garment. Great for complex designs, photographs, or when embroidery can't capture detail. Durable and vibrant.

Laser engraving: CO₂ laser burns the design into leather patches, keychains, metal, wood. Permanent, high-end look.

Do you screen print on hats?

No. Hats are decorated with embroidery, leather patches, or DTF. Screen printing on hats has a quality and durability problem. We recommend embroidery for premium hats or DTF for lower-cost promotional hats.

What's the difference between plastisol and discharge ink?

Both are used in screen printing. Discharge ink removes the dye from the fabric and replaces it with the pigment, so the print feels like part of the shirt rather than sitting on top. It's more durable than plastisol, softer to the touch, and looks vintage. Plastisol sits on top of the fabric and gives bold, opaque color. Best for bright colors on dark garments. We print in both, and we recommend based on the design and garment.

Do you do leather patch hats?

Yes. Laser-engraved leather patches sewn onto premium hats. We have our own Cowboy CB3500 heavy-duty leather stitching machine in-house for patch attachment. Hand-sewn leather patches are available as a premium upgrade ($3/hat) for the highest-end finish.

Do you handle high-volume orders?

Absolutely. Our M&R Gauntlet GT-8 8-color automatic press handles up to 720 impressions per hour. We've done runs from 1 shirt to 5,000+ shirts. Volume pricing scales down significantly past 48, 144, and 500-piece tiers. Ask for a tiered quote.

Can I bring my own garments to be printed or stitched?

Yes. Customer-supplied garments are welcome for screen printing, embroidery, or DTF. Pricing for decoration-only (no garment) is lower than all-inclusive orders. Note: we can't guarantee results on unknown or low-quality garments. Inspect your stock before bringing it in.

Brands & Garments

Do you sell Carhartt?

Yes. We're a licensed Carhartt decorator through wholesale channels. Jackets, hoodies, work pants, tees, beanies, bucket hats, Toboggan hats. No minimums on Carhartt custom embroidery. That's a major differentiator from Carhartt Company Gear's 6-unit minimum. See our Carhartt Toboggan Hat landing page for the hat-specific offering.

Do you sell Richardson hats?

Yes. Richardson 112, 168, 172, and premium camo lines are all available through our wholesale channels. The 112 trucker is our best-selling blank hat and works for embroidery, leather patch, or DTF decoration.

What brands do you source?

100+ brands through our three licensed wholesale distributors (SanMar, S&S Activewear, Alphabroder). Common request brands: Carhartt, Richardson, Bella+Canvas, Next Level, Gildan, Comfort Colors, Port Authority, Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Champion, Flexfit, New Era, Yupoong, Pacific Headwear, Otto, Stormtech, Volunteer Knitwear, Tultex, Independent Trading Co. If you want a specific brand, ask. Most likely we have access.

Is Carhartt K87 available for custom printing?

White K87 is retail-exclusive. Carhartt does not distribute white K87 through any wholesale or decorator channel, so no shop can legitimately offer a custom-decorated white K87. We can do K87 in all other available colors: black, navy, heather grey, port, bright lime, chestnut, and more.

What's the best tee for a premium retail feel?

For retail-feel fashion tees: Next Level CVC, Bella+Canvas 3001 CVC, Comfort Colors 1717, Tultex 202. For heavyweight vintage: Independent Trading Co SS4500. For Toyota / outdoor apparel lines: we print on Next Level CVC as the default premium option.

Artwork & Files

What kind of file do I need to send you?

For best results: vector files (.AI, .EPS, .PDF) with all fonts outlined. For DTF and photographs: 300 DPI PNG with transparent background. Minimum acceptable raster size: 300 DPI at final print size. If you only have a screenshot or low-res file, we can often recreate it (design fees apply). Send files to sales@battlebornclothing.com with your quote request.

I don't have artwork. Can you make something for me?

Yes. Our in-house graphic design services range from simple text layouts (typically $35–$75) to full custom logo design ($150–$400). We'll get you a quote before starting any design work. See our Graphic Design Services page for specifics.

How do proofs work?

Once payment is received, we produce a digital proof (mockup of your design on the selected garment) within 24–48 hours. You review and approve. Nothing goes on the press until you sign off on the proof. Revisions are included.

Can I match a specific Pantone color?

Yes, for screen printing. Provide the Pantone Solid Coated (PMS) number and we'll mix ink to match. Some Pantone colors require a small mix-charge ($25–$45 per color). For embroidery, we'll match to the closest Madeira thread color from the Madeira Classic 40 chart.

What's the smallest / largest size I can print?

Screen printing: minimum ~1.5″ wide (any smaller and ink clogs the mesh). Maximum standard print area: 14″ wide x 16″ tall (front and back). Oversize prints up to 16″ x 20″ are possible with setup. Embroidery: 1.5″ minimum for legible text, 5″ wide maximum on most hats, 12″ x 12″ on jackets. DTF: 0.5″ minimum, 14″ x 16″ maximum on most machines.

Ordering, Payment & Pricing

How do I get a quote?

Three ways. Fastest: email sales@battlebornclothing.com with your design file, quantity, garment type, and deadline. Online: fill out any quote form on our site (located on every service page and landing page). Phone: (775) 230-0211. We reply with a quote within 24 hours, usually same day.

Do you have a minimum order size?

No. Literally zero. We'll print one hat, one tee, one hoodie. Small orders carry a higher per-piece cost because setup fees are the same whether you print 1 or 1,000, but we'll do it. For embroidery and laser engraving, volume doesn't matter at all. For screen printing, volume breaks kick in at 24, 48, 144, and 500 pieces.

What's your payment policy?

100% of the order is paid upfront, before any work begins. This includes before we produce mockups, digitize for embroidery, or order blanks. Once payment clears, we produce your proof, you approve, and we go into production. No partial deposits, no 50% down, no net terms for new accounts. This policy lets us ship faster because there's no back-end collection step slowing us down. Established wholesale accounts may qualify for net terms after multiple successful orders.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Discover) via secure Shopify checkout. ACH bank transfer for large orders. Check for established accounts. Zelle and wire transfer for wholesale. No Venmo or Cash App for business orders.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing = garment cost + decoration setup + decoration per-piece cost + any specialty charges. Setup fees are fixed per design per process (e.g., one screen per ink color for screen printing). Per-piece cost scales with quantity. Larger orders have lower per-piece costs because setup fees amortize across more pieces. Complex designs with more ink colors or more stitch count cost more than simple designs.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes. Shops, retailers, and resellers can request wholesale pricing. Send your business info to sales@battlebornclothing.com for an application. Wholesale buyers get volume breaks, faster turnaround, and established-account net terms (after a history of successful orders).

Can you do a rush job?

Sometimes. Rush fees apply. Call (775) 230-0211 with your deadline and we'll tell you yes or no based on current production load. Rush typically means 3-day turnaround or faster. Most standard orders take 5–10 business days from approved proof to ship.

What's your turnaround time?

Standard: 5–10 business days from approved proof to ship. Embroidery only: 5–7 business days. DTF only: 3–5 business days. Large orders (500+ pieces): 10–15 business days. Timeline starts when payment clears AND proof is approved. Rush options available for additional fee.

Shipping & Returns

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping cost is included in your quote. We ship UPS Ground for most orders (2–5 business days to most of the US). Expedited options (UPS 2-Day, UPS Next Day Air) available at actual cost. Local pickup at the Yerington shop is free. International shipping available to Canada and Mexico by quote.

What's your return policy?

Custom-decorated orders are final sale. We cannot accept returns on items printed or embroidered with a customer-supplied design or logo. If we made a mistake (wrong design, wrong size, defective print), we fix it at no cost. Stock (undecorated) apparel from our Toyota or branded lines follows our standard 30-day return policy: unworn, tags attached, buyer pays return shipping.

What if a print comes out wrong?

We fix it. If the print doesn't match the approved proof, or if there's a defect in our work, we reprint or replace the garment at no cost to you. You have to notify us within 7 days of receipt and send us a photo of the issue. This is standard industry practice and we stand behind our work.

Do you ship internationally?

To Canada and Mexico: yes, by quote. Other international destinations: case by case. International orders involve customs documentation, duty charges, and longer lead times. Expect 2–4 additional weeks for international shipping on top of production time.

Events, Teams & Bulk Orders

Do you do event merchandise?

Yes, and we love it. Off-road events, rodeos, car shows, charity runs, mining company anniversaries, trail run club events, festivals. We've done gear for the Mina Poker Run, Death Ride, regional Toyota meets, and dozens of other Nevada events. Same-day quote, no minimums, print-ready mockup back to you within 24 hours.

Can you do team uniforms?

Yes. Corporate uniforms, construction crew gear, mining company workwear, church staff, nonprofit teams. We embroider polos and Carhartts, screen print tees and hoodies. See our Team & Corporate Uniforms page for the full breakdown. Volume discounts kick in at 24, 48, and 144 pieces.

Do you offer mining workwear?

Yes. Carhartt and Carhartt-licensed workwear with custom embroidery for Nevada mining operations, construction crews, fabrication shops. See our Mining Workwear Nevada page for the mining-specific offering.

Do you have pre-built designs or is everything custom?

Two streams. Retail line: Toyota-themed hats, tees, and hoodies designed by us (FZJ80, Tacoma, 4Runner, FJ40, TEQ Katakana, TRD Heritage, etc.). Buy directly from the site. Custom: 100% your design on garments we source. Anyone can order custom, regardless of quantity.

Care & Durability

How do I care for screen-printed apparel?

Turn inside out before washing. Wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low or hang dry (hang dry extends print life). Do not iron directly on the print. Do not dry clean. Following these rules gets you 50+ wash cycles with minimal print degradation.

How durable is DTF?

DTF is surprisingly durable. With proper care (inside out, cold wash, hang dry) you can expect 40–60 wash cycles before visible wear. DTF is more flexible than plastisol screen prints and doesn't crack as easily. The weak point is abrasion, which is why high-wear areas like sleeve hems or bag bottoms may show wear faster than chest prints.

Does embroidery wear out?

Rarely. Embroidery is the most durable decoration method because the thread is stitched into the garment rather than applied on top. The thread itself (polyester Madeira or Isacord) is essentially colorfast and won't fade. The garment underneath will wear out first. Expect 10+ years of use on a well-made embroidered hat or polo.

Yes. Our Sales Rep program pays commission on orders you bring in. If you sell apparel, run a shop, book events, or just know a lot of people who buy custom gear, sign up on our Sales Rep Program page. Commissions pay on every order from your referred customers.

Yes. Our Our Work Gallery has photos of recent jobs including screen prints, embroidery, DTF, and leather patches. You can also check our Instagram (@battlebornclothing) for daily job photos. For a physical sample, we can mail one for a small fee deducted from your first order.

Yes. Find us on Google Business Profile as "Battle Born Clothing & Print," plus Yelp, Facebook, Instagram (@battlebornclothing), Alignable, and YouTube. Customer reviews aggregate at a 4.62 average through Junip (21+ verified reviews) and similar ratings across other platforms.

Rob and Pamela Krause. Rob runs day-to-day operations and designs much of the Toyota-focused retail line (he owns an FZJ80 Land Cruiser himself). Pamela handles ownership, marketing, and infrastructure. Family-owned, Nevada-based, decorating apparel in-house since day one.
