Custom Dri-Fit Shirts
Short answer: "Dri-FIT" is Nike’s trademarked name for its moisture-wicking performance fabric. When most people search for dri fit shirts, they want a lightweight polyester performance tee. We decorate Nike plus performance tees from Sport-Tek, Team 365, Port & Company, Under Armour and adidas, using screen printing with poly inks, DTF transfers or embroidery.
What Does Dri-Fit Mean?
Dri-FIT is a Nike brand name, the same way Kleenex is a brand of tissue. Other brands make the same kind of shirt under their own names. Sport-Tek, for example, uses PosiCharge, a technology Sport-Tek says helps lock in color. The generic terms are "performance tee," "moisture-wicking shirt" or "polyester athletic tee."
So if you want the Nike swoosh on the sleeve, we can order genuine Nike. See custom Nike apparel. If you just want a light, sweat-friendly shirt with your logo for a team, a 5K or a work crew, a Sport-Tek or Team 365 tee does the same job and usually costs less.

How We Decorate Polyester
| Method | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Screen printing | 24 pieces and up, 1 to 4 colors | Polyester calls for low-bleed inks made for poly, cured at lower temperatures. |
| DTF transfers | Small runs, full-color art, names | No screens, so it fits short runs. Press temperature has to suit synthetics. |
| Embroidery | Small left-chest logos | Works best on polos and heavier knits. Very thin tees can pucker under heavy stitch counts. |

Dye Migration: The Polyester Problem
Polyester is dyed differently from cotton. When some dyed polyester gets hot, the dye can move out of the fabric and into the ink on top of it. That is dye migration. The classic example is a white print on a red shirt that turns pink a few days after printing. Reds, maroons and sublimated (all-over printed) shirts are the most likely to bleed.
The general fixes are well known in the industry:
- Use low-bleed or poly-specific inks, sometimes with a gray blocker layer under the white.
- Cure at the lowest temperature the ink allows, since heat drives the bleeding.
- Test print on risky colors before running the whole order.
- Pick a non-sublimated shirt when a white print matters most.
Heat can also leave shiny marks on some performance fabrics, which is another reason to keep temperatures low. If you are set on a specific color, tell us up front and we will flag any risk before we print.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Dri-FIT a brand?
Yes. Dri-FIT is Nike's trademarked name for its moisture-wicking performance fabric. Other brands sell similar polyester performance tees under their own names.
Can you print on dri fit shirts?
Yes. Performance tees can be screen printed with low-bleed inks made for polyester. DTF transfers and embroidery also work, depending on the design and quantity.
What is the best decoration for a performance shirt?
Screen printing for runs of 24 or more with 1 to 4 colors, DTF for small runs or full-color art, and embroidery for small chest logos, mostly on polos and heavier knits.
Why did the white print on my red shirt turn pink?
That is dye migration. Heat can pull dye out of some polyester and into the ink. Low-bleed inks, lower cure temperatures and test prints help prevent it.
