Gildan Size Chart: 5000, 64000, 18500 and 18000 Measurements

Short answer: a Gildan 5000 medium measures 20″ across the chest (laid flat) and 29″ long. The Softstyle 64000 uses the same chest widths. The Heavy Blend 18500 hoodie and 18000 crewneck run 2″ wider than the tees in every size, so a medium hoodie is 22″ across. Most people wear their usual size in all four.

Every number below comes from Gildan spec sheets hosted by our distributors, in inches. Chest is a flat half measure taken one inch below the armhole, so double it for the full chest. Body length runs from the high point of the shoulder to the hem at the back. Gildan blanks are cut and sewn, so expect a little variation from shirt to shirt. S&S Activewear lists a tolerance of plus or minus 1″ on these styles.

The 5000 is a 5.3 oz, 100% US cotton tee in most colors (some heathers and specialty colors are blends). It is a classic, boxy cut: straight through the body with a roomier feel than a fashion tee. See the Gildan 5000.

Gildan 64000 Softstyle Tee Size Chart

The 64000 is a 4.5 oz, 100% ring spun cotton tee in its base colors (heathers and some other colors are blends). Gildan calls the cut a modern classic fit. On paper it measures almost the same as the 5000, but the lighter, softer fabric drapes closer to the body, so it reads as a more modern tee. It also comes in XS, which the 5000 does not. The 18500 is an 8 oz, 50/50 cotton/poly fleece pullover. It is cut 2″ wider than a Gildan tee of the same size but about 1″ shorter, so it fits loose through the chest. See the Gildan 18500.

• 5000 runs boxy. Straight, roomy body. Most people wear their usual size. Size down only if you want it trimmer.
• 64000 feels more modern. Same flat numbers as the 5000, but softer, lighter fabric that hangs closer. Size up if you like room.
• Hoodies and crews run 2″ wider than the tees. If you wear a large tee, a large 18500 will feel loose. That is normal for fleece.
• Measure a shirt you already like. Lay it flat, measure one inch below the armholes, and match that number to the chart. It beats guessing from your body size.
