Custom Golf Shirts

Short answer: Battle Born Clothing embroiders custom golf shirts for tournaments, golf clubs and corporate outings, from budget Port Authority performance polos up to Puma Golf, Nike and TravisMathew. There is no minimum on embroidery, embroidery runs about $6 per shirt at 12 to 47 pieces, and standard production is 10–14 business days from your approved proof.

We decorate in Yerington, Nevada and ship nationwide. Pick a shirt, send your logo, and we send back a mockup and a firm quote. This page covers which brand fits your budget, where the logo goes, what to know about polyester performance fabric, and how to time a tournament order so the shirts show up before tee time.

A note on brand pricing: adidas, Under Armour, Puma Golf, Nike and TravisMathew set the price their shirts can be advertised at. We follow those rules, so your quote shows the brand price plus decoration.

Embroidery Placement on Golf Shirts

Embroidery is the standard for golf shirts. It looks sharp, it survives the wash, and it suits the course dress code. These are the placements we stitch most:

  • Left chest. The main logo. Club crest, company logo or tournament mark. This is the one almost every order gets.
  • Right chest. Good for the event name and year, or a sponsor, when the left chest carries the club logo.
  • Sleeve. A small second logo, a sponsor or a flag. Some brands already put their own mark on one sleeve, so we use the other.
  • Back yoke. Just below the collar on the back. A clean spot for a website, a club name or a charity logo. Some premium shirts carry a brand logo near the back neck, so we check the blank before placing it.

Two real examples from the spec sheets: the adidas A230 has a contrast adidas logo on the right sleeve, and the Puma Golf Pure 2.0 has Puma cat branding at center back. We plan around marks like these on your proof so nothing overlaps.

Every logo gets digitized for thread once, from $16.99. See embroidery digitizing for what that involves, and our embroidery services page for the full rundown.

Polyester Performance Fabric: What Changes

Most golf shirts today are polyester knits built to wick sweat. The Puma Golf Pure 2.0, for example, is 100% recycled polyester at 4.13 oz./yd² with 40+ UPF, per its distributor spec. The adidas A230 is 100% recycled polyester at 3.8 oz./yd². That lightweight, stretchy fabric is great on the course and needs care on the machine.

  • Puckering. Thin knits can pucker around a dense logo. We digitize for performance fabric and stabilize the shirt so the logo lies flat.
  • Logo size. A tight, moderate left chest logo looks better on a light polo than a big heavy one. We will tell you if your file needs simplifying.
  • Fine detail. Very small text or a full-color logo may stitch poorly. In that case a DTF transfer can carry the detail instead.
  • Care. Polyester holds its size well. Read more in does polyester shrink.

Ordering Golf Shirts for a Tournament

Most rush problems with tournament shirts come from late sizes, not from production. Work back from the event date:

Step What to do When
1. Pick the shirt and colors Choose a tier and one or two colors. Fewer colors means a simpler size run. As early as possible
2. Send the logo Send vector art if you have it (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg). Add sponsor logos now, not later. With the shirt choice
3. Collect sizes Add a shirt size question to your registration form. Use our size charts to settle fit questions. Close sizes about 4 weeks out
4. Approve the proof Production starts once you approve the mockup. At least 3 weeks out
5. Production and shipping Standard production is 10–14 business days from proof approval, plus shipping time. Shirts land the week before

If registrations are still coming in, order a few extras in the middle sizes so late players are covered. Need it faster? Ask us. Rush depends on the schedule and stock.

Round out the player gift with custom golf hats, a custom quarter-zip for cold mornings, or an engraved tumbler.
