adidas A230 Performance Polo Custom With Your Logo

adidas A230 Performance Polo Custom With Your Logo

If you want a light, sporty polo for a team, staff or event and you want your logo on it, the adidas A230 Men's Performance Polo is a smart place to start. It is a thin, breathable recycled-polyester knit that stays comfortable in Nevada heat, it comes in a wide color range, and it carries a recognizable brand name that people actually like wearing. The catch is that very light performance fabric needs the right decoration method. This guide covers the specs that matter, how we recommend decorating it, and how to order it from Battle Born Clothing.

Specs that matter for decoration

  • Fabric: 3.8 oz./yd² 100% recycled polyester with a hydrophilic finish that helps pull moisture off the skin.
  • Construction: ribbed-knit collar and a three-button placket.
  • Brand mark: a contrast heat-transfer adidas logo sits on the right sleeve, so plan your artwork around that spot.
  • Sizes: XS through 4XL (XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL).
  • Colors: 14 options, including Black, White, Navy, Grey Three, Maroon, Orange, Collegiate Royal, Collegiate Red, Collegiate Green, Collegiate Gold, Collegiate Purple, Team Light Blue, Clear Mint and Bliss Pink.

At 3.8 ounces this is one of the lighter polos you can put a logo on. That is great for comfort and for hot outdoor work, but it means the fabric has very little body to support heavy stitching. The manufacturer itself notes that heat transfer is the preferred decoration for this fabric, and that embroidery should only be done with proper stabilizing, hoops, backing, needles and thread.

Best decoration method

DTF transfers (our first choice for this polo)

For most A230 orders we recommend a DTF (direct-to-film) transfer. It applies with heat and pressure, adds almost no weight, stays flexible on a stretchy knit and handles full-color logos, gradients and fine detail. DTF has no minimum, so it works for a 6-piece golf foursome just as well as for a 200-piece company order.

Embroidery (yes, with the right setup)

Plenty of customers want the stitched look on a polo, and we can do it. On a fabric this thin we use a lightweight cutaway or no-show mesh backing so the logo does not pucker or show through, keep stitch counts moderate, and avoid big solid fill areas. Simple logos and bold lettering stitch best. Very small text, thin outlines and dense fills are better as a transfer. Embroidery also has no minimum.

Screen printing

Screen printing is possible on 100% polyester, but it is usually not the best fit for a lightweight polo, and it makes the most sense on larger runs (no hard minimum, 48+ pieces per design recommended). If you are leaning that way, we will talk through ink choice for polyester when we quote it.

Placement suggestions

  • Left chest: the standard spot. Plan on roughly 3.5–4 in wide for embroidery and 3.5–4.5 in wide for a transfer.
  • Left sleeve: a small secondary logo or flag, about 2.5–3 in wide. The right sleeve already carries the adidas mark.
  • Upper back / yoke: a company name or website below the collar, around 8–10 in wide, works well as a transfer.

Who orders it

The A230 is a natural fit for groups that need to look sharp while staying cool:

  • Golf tournaments and charity scrambles that want a recognizable brand for player gifts.
  • Corporate teams and front-office staff who want a polo that is a step up from a basic blank.
  • Outdoor crews such as surveyors, inspectors, ag reps and landscaping supervisors working in Northern Nevada summers.
  • Resorts, clubs and event staff who need a lot of color choices to match a uniform plan.
  • School and youth sports coaches who like the collegiate color names that match team colors.

We decorate for local businesses around Yerington, Mason Valley and the greater Reno area, and we ship orders anywhere in the US.

Pair it with

If you are building a matching set, two other adidas styles work well alongside the A230. The A430 Performance Piqué Polo is a slightly heavier piqué knit for people who want more structure, and the A401 Ultimate365 Lightweight Quarter-Zip gives your team a layer for cool mornings. You can see these and more on our adidas hub page.

FAQ

Yes. Because it is a 3.8 oz. performance knit, we use a lightweight cutaway or no-show mesh backing and keep stitch counts moderate. For detailed or full-color logos we usually recommend a DTF transfer instead.

Is there a minimum order?

No minimum for embroidery or DTF transfers. Screen printing has no hard minimum, but we recommend 48 or more pieces per design.

How long does a custom A230 order take?

About 21 days (three weeks) from your approved proof. Rush timelines are quoted per job.
