Custom adidas A401 Ultimate365 Quarter-Zip With Your Logo

A custom adidas quarter-zip is one of the easiest ways to give a team something they will wear well past the event it was ordered for. The adidas A401 Men's Ultimate365 Lightweight Quarter-Zip Pullover is a light performance layer that works over a polo on a cool golf morning, under a jacket on a job site, or on its own in the office. It is light enough to wear most of the year, it carries a brand people recognize, and it has a clean chest that shows off a logo. Here is how to get the most out of it when you add your branding.

Specs that matter for decoration

  • Fabric: 6.1 oz./yd² 100% recycled polyester with a hydrophilic finish for moisture management.
  • Construction: self-fabric mock collar, cuffs and bottom hem, with a quarter-zip front.
  • Brand mark: a contrast silicone adidas logo on the left sleeve, so keep sleeve artwork to the right side.
  • Sizes: XS through 4XL (XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL).
  • Colors: 11 options: Black, Black Heather, Blue Fusion, Collegiate Green, Collegiate Navy, Collegiate Royal, Grey Three, Grey Three Melange, Onix, Power Red and White.

At 6.1 ounces, the A401 has noticeably more body than a typical performance polo. That extra weight gives embroidery a better foundation, but it is still a stretchy polyester knit, so stabilizing and stitch density still matter. The heathered and melange colors also have a little visual texture, which can make very thin lines look busier than they do on a solid color.

Best decoration method

Embroidery (the classic choice)

Most people picture an embroidered left-chest logo on a quarter-zip, and this style handles it well. We back it with a cutaway or no-show mesh stabilizer so the logo stays flat when the fabric stretches, and we keep stitch counts moderate rather than packing in heavy fills. Bold shapes and lettering at least a quarter inch tall read best. Embroidery has no minimum.

DTF transfers

If your logo has gradients, photo detail, lots of colors or very fine type, a DTF transfer is the better fit. It stays flexible on the knit, adds almost no weight, and also has no minimum. DTF is a good choice for larger back hits, too.

Screen printing

Screen printing on polyester is doable and makes sense for larger runs of a simple design (no hard minimum, 48+ pieces per design recommended). On a performance layer like this one, most customers end up choosing embroidery or DTF, but we are happy to quote it.

Placement suggestions

  • Left chest: roughly 3.5–4 in wide, set clear of the zipper so the logo does not fold when the collar is open.
  • Right chest: a good spot for an event name, a second logo or a person's name.
  • Right sleeve: a small mark around 2.5–3 in wide. The left sleeve already has the adidas logo.
  • Upper back: a company name or website, about 8–10 in wide, works well as a DTF transfer.

Who orders it

  • Golf events and club staff who want a layer that matches the polo they already ordered.
  • Corporate teams and sales reps who need something that looks professional at a client meeting or trade show.
  • Construction, mining and engineering offices where supervisors and project managers move between the office and the site.
  • Outdoor and ag crews dealing with cold Northern Nevada mornings that turn into warm afternoons.
  • Coaches and booster clubs who want collegiate-style colors for sideline wear.

A quarter-zip is also a popular corporate gift in general, because it is useful in almost any climate and fits a wide range of people.

Pair it with

The A401 layers naturally over adidas polos. The A230 Performance Polo is the lightweight option for hot days, and the A430 Performance Piqué Polo has a more traditional piqué texture. Matching the same logo and thread color across the set makes a team look put together. Browse the full lineup on our adidas hub page.

Bringing your own quarter-zips? We decorate customer-supplied garments for a $2 per item handling fee. Expect about 4% spoilage, which is standard across decorating methods, so a couple of spares is a good idea. FAQ

What is the best way to put a logo on the adidas A401?

Left-chest embroidery with a cutaway or no-show mesh backing is the most common choice. For full-color or very detailed artwork, a DTF transfer is usually cleaner.

Can I order just a few quarter-zips?

Yes. Embroidery and DTF have no minimum. Screen printing has no hard minimum, though we recommend 48 or more pieces per design.

Can I add a name or second logo?

Yes. The right chest and right sleeve are good spots for names or secondary marks. Include them in your quote request and they will show on your proof.
